Het onderzoek van de Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) produceert jaarlijks een groot volume aan data. Carolina Rodriguez (Dilucidar) heeft mij in 2015 voor het eerst gevraagd om te helpen deze cijfers in een infographics rijk rapport te gieten. Een interessante klus met flink wat denkwerk. Want wat is de beste manier om data te visualiseren zodat iedereen het verhaal begrijpt?

Het India Africa Report is een van de vele rapporten waar ik inmiddels aan heb mogen werken. Naast opmaak houd ik mij in het bijzonder bezig met de grafieken en infographics die de grote hoeveelheid data vangen in leesbare en begrijpelijke vorm.

Africa and India have had a rich distinguished history, first ushered by Indian traders led by the seasonal monsoon winds before they up-scaled their presence in the 17th century due to the abundance of spices on the East African coast. The colonial period brought with it a new demand for Indian labor. Today, the relationship is vibrant and multi-layered. It is one of equal partners focused on prosperity and a quest for mutually beneficial economic development. The result is that annual trade between India and Africa stands at US$ 75 billion making India the third largest trading partner of Africa.
